LEADERSHIP

We build what we ride...

Briones isn’t just a network of trails, it’s a community effort, a shared passion, and a responsibility we take seriously. Working alongside land managers, we focus on sustainable trail design and thoughtful stewardship to keep Briones a premier riding destination while respecting the land we share. Whether it's fine-tuning a line or advocating for responsible access, our goal is simple: better trails, a stronger community, and trails that allow riders to challenge themselves and explore new lines.

Steve Martino

DIRECTOR OF DIRT

If you've ever railed a berm, floated through a perfectly tuned section, or dropped into a line that just feels right at Briones, chances are Martino had a hand in it. As the Director of Dirt, Martino is the mastermind blending flow and design to ensure every inch of single track he touches leaves you wanting for more.

As a hands-on leader, Steve works closely with the EBRPD staff, ensuring every project aligns with sustainability goals while keeping the ride experience at the forefront. From pre-dig walk-throughs to dirt-sculpting sessions that turn a vision into MTB magic, his commitment to responsible and progressive trail design has made Briones a premier riding destination.

Robby Myer

Board President

Robby Myer doesn’t just ride the trails, he fights for them. As the President of Stewards of Briones, Robby brings together a lifetime of action sports experience and trail building know-how to lead the charge in making Briones a world-class riding destination.

From securing resources and forging partnerships to navigating the delicate balance between park needs and rider access, Robby works behind the scenes to ensure the future of Briones stays inline with its original personality! Under Robby’s leadership, Stewards of Briones has grown from a vision into a movement, one that’s pushing for the next generation of riders to experience better trails, stronger community, and the kind of flow that keeps you coming back for more.

David Cervenka

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

“DC” has long been associated with mountain biking in the East Bay. Not only is Dave a mountain biker through and through, competing in numerous long format categories across several states, but he also a renowned coach for kids in NICA programs and is continually active with the Contra Costa Composite Mountain Biking team. Along with a true passion for bikes, DC brings industry experience, a logical common-sense approach to our endeavors, as well as a professional eye for photography to our SOBs Board of Directors. As our Executive Director, DC heads up the day to day for the SOBs and when not working to organize dig days or Champion for access, you can find DC riding laps in Briones.

Mike Voie

"The Accountant"

Mike Voie isn’t your typical number-cruncher. Sure, he keeps the financial gears of Stewards of Briones running smoother than a freshly dialed suspension, but behind the spreadsheets lurks a rider who thrives on commitment and accuracy. A finisher of La Ruta, one of the most brutal MTB races on the planet with over 12k feet of climbing in a day, Mike knows what it takes to stay focused under pressure!

When he’s not balancing budgets, he’s dropping techie descents with surgical precision or literally flying over trailheads en route to his next adventure. A certified pilot with an alphabet soup of ratings, Mike applies the same razor-sharp focus and relentless attention to detail that makes him a force in both the sky and the financial books.
